The Gallardo is a breakthrough Lamborghini. It was the first all-new car to be made by Sant'Agata under Audi’s ownership- the V10 engine, the aluminium space frame, chassis and all the engineering was new and first went on sale in 2003 to critical acclaim.
Eclipsing the power of Ferrari’s F430 and Porsche’s 911 Turbo, at just 4300mm long (shorter than a Ford Focus) the Gallardo was also a refreshing change from leviathan V12 halo models. But with exotic styling from Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign, was still visually, audibly magnificent retaining signature Lamborghini proportions and wild performance the fighting bull is synonymous with.
Launched at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, the revised Gallardo LP560-4 (560PS, 4-wheel drive) was a significant advance. Powered by a new, larger 5.2-litre DFS V10 with new block and crank-shaft and uneven firing order producing 412kW and 539Nm- an increase of 24kW and 31Nm, massively powerful, the Gallardo cemented its legacy as arguably Lamborghini’s most pivotal supercar and it could now accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 325km/h.
At the same time, the E-gear's 6-speed automated paddle-shift manual was revised to offer a Corsa mode that made shifts 40% quicker and also reduced the amount of traction control intervention. A 'Thrust Mode' launch control system was added, the car was now some 20kg lighter than its predecessor and the more angular bodywork increased downforce by 31%. A totally-revised double-wishbone front suspension set-up was employed with a widened front track and Lamborghini fitted a quicker, more enthusiastically assisted rack-and-pinion gear for the steering glorified by motoring press.
Here was something decisively more extraordinary, so it was no coincidence the LP560-4 Spyder was subsequently anointed Performance Car Of The Year by Car magazine.
Available here is a simply outstanding MY2010 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder LP560-4 travelled just 15,249 Kilometres and delivered new by Lamborghini, Melbourne in September of 2009.

Relinquished from a private collection, accompanied by its complete book pack and both keys housed in the original Lamborghini wallet and fitted with a bi-modal sports exhaust by HiTech Australia, with just two careful owners from new this exceptional Gallardo Spyder is a rare find.
Fast becoming a modern classic, the discontinued Gallardo is widely recognised now as an exemplar of supercar purity. A lightweight, aggressively packaged, normally-aspirated enthusiasts car.
The Gallardo also carved its own piece of Australian motorsports history, claiming outright wins at Targa Tasmania four times in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2015.
In an inevitably electrified future, a screaming V10 that slays most V8s for grunt and charisma, razor sharp handling and failsafe grip provided by an all-wheel drive system beneath classic Lamborghini chiselled styling makes this car an increasingly desirable acquisition.
